In partnership with the Canadian Chinese Music Society and Canadian Chinese Music Teacher Association, the ensemble will be involved inthe 2011 Chinese Instrumental Grade Examination on October 15-16. This event will develop the traditions of Chinese music for both students and teachers in Canada.
Based on our multicultural mandate, the society aims to promote and improve the Chinese traditional instrumental education standards, discover young talent, provide training and support for more development.
About 2011 Canada Chinese Music Society Grade Examination
The examination will be operated under an a grading committee which is formed by local professional musicians and music teachers. All of the judges will be elected by the society.
The examination rules, materials and requirements will be set by the grading committee based on the reference of current major traditional music institutes and agencies in China to meet the current standards and character of Chinese traditional instrumental music tought and performed in Canada. The evaluation committee will be composed by three or more experienced professional musicians and music teachers. The mark for all of the candidates will take the average score from the judges secret bullets.
The examination rules
(1) Repertoire: can refer to any authoritative versions of grading examination materials from China
and or use current practicing components.
(2) Requirements: strictly follow the technical requirements of the repertoire and focus
on the musical expression.
(3) Grading is divided into 10 levels, and the highest level is grade 10. The duration of
testing for grade 1 to 6 is limited to 10 minutes, and grade 7 to 10 limited to 15 minutes.
(4) The results of the exam are divided by the excellent, good, qualified and fail. The
candidates will have opportunity to get an on-site critque and written guidance.
(5) Examination time and place: October 2011 No. 15/16 pm to 9 pm Chinese Music
Society headquarters, Canada. Notice will be made if there are any changes.
(6) Candidates note: Please arrive 30 minutes in advance to register. Later comers will be processed with a disclaimer.
All candidates must obey arrangements made by staff. Candidates can choose to memorize music or use sheet music for the exam.
Examiners hold the right to hear a selection or ask examinees to stop playing. These actions will not affect results.
Application guidelines
(1) The examination has no age limitation. Each person only can apply to one level of testing and for
one instrument only.
(2) In order to ensure the quality of the exam, candidates should consult with music instructors to choose suitable level to apply.
(3) Registration required procedures: clear and completed registration form must be received by appropriate deadline
The completed registration includes:
(A) Registration form with all of the required information filled in.
(B) Two of 2 inches size pictures of the candidate.
(C) Required registration fee (by cash or cheque)
After the registration procedure completed, the candidates will receive official notice issued by Canada Chinese Music Society and scheduled appointment for examination.
2011年 加拿大中国音乐学会 中乐考级简介
由加拿大中国音乐学会、加拿大华人音乐教师协会和温哥华中华乐团联合举办的中国器乐演奏考级,将由本地的资深专业音乐家和专业音乐老师组成富有经验而有权威性的考级委员会主导下进行。所有的评委将由举办机构共同推选。
考试规则及曲目规定，将由考级委员会参考目前中国多所主要音乐院校及机构的民族器乐考级材料并切合加拿大中华族裔音乐的运用特点及目前中国器乐的教学实际情况而制定。

一、以多元文化政策为宗旨，积极普及、促进和提高中国民族乐器的教学与学习水准，发现和挖掘并培养各种乐器演奏人才，促进多元艺术的发展和繁荣。
二、为达至公正、平等的目标，评判委员会将由三位以上资深专业音乐家和专业音乐老师组成 ，用无记名方式打分，取所有评委之平均分为考生所得分数。
三、考试法则：
1．曲目：本考级曲目均参考中国权威考级版本，并根据加拿大目前的中乐教学实际情况而组成。
2．要求：严格按照乐曲所规定的技术要求，并注重乐曲的处理和音乐表现。
3．本专业考级程度分为10个级别，最高级为第10级。 一级至六级每个考生的考试时间限时为10分钟，七级至十级每个考生的考试时间限时为 15分钟
4．考试通过者的成绩分为优秀、良好、合格三种；考试未通过者为不合格。考生将有机会得到现场资深专家的书面指导。
5．考试时间和地点：2011年10月15/16号下午一时至九时在加拿大中国音乐学会总部，有变化另行通知。
6．考生注意事项：参加考级人员按指定时间提前半小时到达考场，否则作弃考处理。考生必须听从工作人员安排，遵守考场规则，不得喧闹及影响他人考试。考生可以选择看谱或背谱。考场中，主考官有权根据时间及学生实际情况选择或中止演奏，但並不影响成绩。
四、报名注意事项：
1．报考者年龄不限，每人每项只限报1个级别，同一乐器不得同时报考2个级别。
2．为保证考级质量，报考者须选定适合自己程度的级别。
报名所需手续：在规定的时间里报名，清楚、完整、真实地填写报名表上各项内容，同时须交2张一寸免冠照片，报名完毕将发给经盖章的准考证。
